On the second of May, beloved Trot icon Lim Young-Woong released his long-awaited second album, “IM HERO.” The record is a collection of trot tracks and ballads that are a perfect reflection of everything that has made Lim Young-Woong one of the most influential and beloved artists in the Korean music industry.
Lim Young-woong Releases New Album – Record Sales
With the new album, Lim Young-Woong sold over 940,000 record copies in the first 24 hours, making the record a phenomenal success.
Selling almost one million copies on Hanteo (a Korean music distributor), Lim Young Woong has become the top-selling soloist (for album sales in under 24 hours) on the site. Furthermore, the record, titled “IM HERO,” has become the fifth highest-selling record in Hanteo’s history in first-day sales.
What’s more, the album’s title track, “If I Ever Meet You Again,” immediately charted on all top Korean charts, including MelOn. The title track also instantly trended on Korean YouTube. The song effortlessly continues to conquer the top spot in a variety of Trending playlists.
