According to WM, Jiho decided against renewing her seven-year exclusive contract after it expired.
Note: it is very common for groups to restructure after seven years since most K-Pop exclusive contracts last for this amount of time. Fans often refer to the phenomenon as “The Seven Year Curse” because many groups have disbanded after seven years.

After the news broke, Jiho uploaded a handwritten letter to Oh My Girl’s fan club website in which she thanked the group’s fans (nicknamed Miracle) for their love and support through the years. She wrote, “I will support Oh My Girl from now on not as a member but as one of Miracle.”

WM Entertainment was quick to note that, despite the sudden news, Oh My Girl is planning to restructure and rebrand as a six-member group. WM said about the six remaining members, “With deep trust and confidence in each other built over working together for seven years, we plan to not hold back on our full support so that the six members can promote actively in diverse fields.”
